BIRD DOG SERIES
ABOUT
THE WORK
This series is about the interrelationship between
domestic dogs and wild birds.
I
began to think a bit about this when a dog I once had would bark
emphatically, followed by tearing across the yard at top speed in an effort to
chase the Magpies away...only to have them return almost immediately to fly just
out of her reach taunting her. This
amused me greatly, both because it seemed like some sort of perverse play
between the species, and because it happened often enough for me to conclude
that they might each have been counting on the other to put some excitement in
their daily lives.
Since
we can't know completely the mind of either birds or dogs, I think it is
possible that there is a whole world of relationships between these two species
that we, as humans, are not privileged to know.
With that in mind, I bring you this series from my imagination depicting
a variety of domestic dogs together with wild birds or things bird-related.
